Suggestions/plots for fun in the wee hours (add +1 if you're interested). We'll need to vacate the Cronkite Center by 10 pm, but he Sheraton has a cozy lobby and an even cozier bar that are open and available for after-hours gathering.:

  • I'm sure I'll head to Pizzeria Bianco at least once, maybe Friday before the first session. Purportedly one of the best pizzas in the US, walking distance from the event hotel. Very long wait, though. Let me know if you want to join on Friday. --Marc Hedlund
  • I noticed the Phoenix Suns are playing at home on December 3 and 5.--Clark Bell
  • Check out First Friday, a streetfair/artfest, often with music, at dark until about 10ish about 3 blocks north of Cronkite/Sheraton, on Roosevelt, between Central and Third Street. Traffic is blocked, so just walk north to the Artlink Arizona activity billed as "the nation's largest, self-guided art walk." Lots of funky galleries in the 'hood. - Jody Brannon @brannonj
  • Friends say The Roosevelt at 816 N 3rd St is a great place for drinks, and it's an easy walk from the hotel. I'll also be stopping by Cartel Coffee at 1 N. 1st Street on Saturday and morning before we begin. - Amanda Lucier
